Ms. Claudine Balchin, 87, of 101 Allis Avenue, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2009 in Hospice of the Upstate, Anderson.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 11am from the Chapel of Harley Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Evans will officiate and burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chad Dickerson, Ricky Burton, Mark Maddox, Scottie McCraken, Blake Crocker, Brent Crocker, and Cruz Dickerson. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835
Born in Elberton, GA, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Mattie Chandler Balchin. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, Ninety Six Plant and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Ellen Morris of Elberton; son, Paul & Jannie Anderson of Iva; two sisters, Martha Miner of Abbevile and Sue Bailey of Elberton; ten grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a sister, Louise Anderson; and brothers, T.O, Bud, J.E., Charlie, and Jack Balchin.
