Mrs. Naomi Skelton Shiflet, age 95, of 45 Walnut Street, Hartwell, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2009 in Hart County Hospital.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 2pm from the Hartwell Chapel of The Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Meeks will officiate and burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday night in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel.
Born on May 16, 1914 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Skelton and Julia Greenway Skelton. She was a homemaker and member Cornerstone Baptist Church and Carolyn Brown Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank L. Shiflet; a sister, Anne S. Strickland; and two brothers, Joel Skelton and Ralph Skelton.
Survivors include her son, Niles Shiflet of Royston; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces; and nephews.
