Mrs. Mary Ruth Stewart Benton, age 85, of Hazle Creek Road, Mt. Airy, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in her residence.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 3pm from the Hazel Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2-3 just prior to the service in the church and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was a daughter of the late William Walker Stewart and Julia Fricks Stewart and
was preceded in death by her husband John L. Benton, sister Montine Hardy, and brothers Luther Stewart, and Roy Stewart.
Survivors include a son, Edward Len "Eddie" Benton; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Ruth Stewart; sisters-in-law, Earla Stewart and Sue Fourman; and several nieces and nephews.
