Carlton Haynes

Carlton Lee Rich-Haynes, 16, of Flagstaff, Arizona, formerly of Elberton, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009.

Carlton was cremated and a memorial service was held on Friday at 10am from the Bible Baptist Church. A local memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 7pm from the Elberton Lutheran Church Courtyard. Those planning to attend are asked to wear a dark shirt and jeans. Those desiring may speak about their favorite memories they have of Carlton. Memorials may be made to:

He was born on November 1, 1992, in Phoenix Arizona, to Daneel Hans of Flagstaff and the late Harold Hayes of Bowman, Georgia. As a baby, his family moved to Flagstaff, where he attended DeMiguel Elementary School before moving to Bowman, Georgia at the age of 7. He returned to Flagstaff last year after his father died. He was a smart kid and loved to read, surf the Internet and play video games. He also enjoyed disc golf, watching movies, Japanese martial arts and animals.

Survivors include his mother, Daneel Hans; stepfather Michael A. Larsen; grandmothers Alice Paula Sullivan and Karen Adele Hans; and grandpa Aaron Peters. He is also survived by foster parents Bruce and Dee Whitlow; foster brother and best friend Dylan Whitlow, all of Elberton, Georgia; his cousin, Stephanie; aunt Janell and uncle Will Pierce; uncle Kirby and aunt Fran Hans; and his dogs Munchie and Alice.

Norvel Owens Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Leann Carrol of Elberton is in charge of the local memorial service.
