Mr. James William Harris, age 67, of 377 Norman Road, Hartwell, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in Augusta.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 4pm from the Hartwell Chapel of The Strickland Funeral Home. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 3-4 prior to the service in the funeral home.
Born October 4, 1941 in Hart County, he was the son of the late Henry R. Harris and Elizabeth Towel Harris. He was a retired Truck Driver. Mr. Harris is preceded in death by his parents; son, William Harris; daughter, Wendy Harris; brothers, Charles William Harris and Henry Carlton Harris; and sisters, Minnie Lee and Betty Hulsey.
Survivors include hid daughter, Janet Dutton of Elberton; sisters, Virginia Billings of Starr, SC, Henrietta O’Dell and Mary Clark, both of Hartwell; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
