Dot Nixon

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Brown Nixon, age 89, of Atlanta, passed away on September 9, 2009 in Embracing Hospice Care, Snellville, GA.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 2pm from the Hartwell Chapel of The Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Sam Dulaney will officate and burial will follow in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1-2 just prior to the Service on Saturday in the funeral home.

Born November 21, 1919 in Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late John Brown and Ethel Burge Brown. She retired from Sears in the Retail Credit Department and was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur, Ga. Dot was the widow of the late Thomas Kinman Nuxon.

Survivors include serveral nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
