Mrs. Ellie Mae Spearman Hughes, age 89, of 895 Ankerich Road, Bowersville passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 in her daughters home, Conyers.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 4pm from the Cross Roads Baptist Church. Revs. Ben Coleman, Connie Mack Bowers, and Gwinett Berryman will officiate and burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday night and will be placed in the church at 3:30 on Friday. Born November 10, 1919 in Madison Couty, she was the daughter of the late Beeman Spearman and Azalea Berryman Spearman. She was retired from Hart Care Center and was a L.P.N. for 46 years. She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Inez Nix.
Survivors include daughters, Patricia Wright of Bowersville, Wilma Rudolph of Conyers, and Wanda Cook of Conyers,; brothers, Clovis Spearman of Lillian AL and Billy Spearman of Lake Panasoffkee, FL; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
