Bob Wheeler

Mr. Robert Alison “Bob” Wheeler, age 72, of 311 Smith Street, Hartwell, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 3009 at 2pm from St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Revs. Lee Payton and Herschel Atkinson will officiate. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell. The family is at the home and will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall until 3:45. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 4pm in Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston. Memorials may be made to:

Born May 18, 1937 in Denver, CO, he was the son of the late Walter McClave Wheeler and Ruth Miller Wheeler. He was a Graduate of Westminster High School; Graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1962 with B.S. in Civil Engineering and was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and retired as Chief Engineer for J.A. Jones Construction Company in Atlanta, GA in 1986. Mr. Wheeler was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church; Hart County Golden K, where he served as a Ramp Crew Chief; Corinthian Masonic Lodge in Nashville, TN, and was in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Sosby Wheeler of the home; son and daughter-in law, Frank and Paige Wheeler of Clayton; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and David Teel of Hartwell; grandchildren, Nathan Wheeler, Duncan Wheeler, Jordan Teel, and Alison Teel.
