Helen Beneigh

Mrs. Helen Romanowski Thatcher Beneigh, age 90, of 45 Walnut Street, Hartwell, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2009 in Hart County Hospital.

The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 11am from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Walter Foley officiating. Mrs. Beneigh wished to be cremated following her funeral mass. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday night. Born on July 5, 1919 in Harrison NJ, she was the daughter of the late Antoni Romanowski and Bridget Bujko Romanowski. Mrs. Beneigh was retired from Western Electric, Union NJ, with 30 years of service, where she was a Quality Control Technician. She worked as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, the Hart County Clothes Closet and was a member of the Friendship Force for one year. Helen was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Hartwell. She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Justin Thatcher, and William A. Beneigh; and a sister, Jennie Krasnitski.

Survivors include her sister, Genevieve Hayes of Parsippany NJ; sister-in-law, Alexia Roman of Macon; three stepchildren, Barine Beneigh Postage, Ginny Beneigh McGeorge and Ted Beneigh; and a close friend, Lyle Roland of Hartwell.
