James Dutton

Mr. James Dutton, age 68, of 80 Snowy Dr, Hartwell, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009 in Hart County Hospital.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 4pm from the Hartwell Chapel of The Strickland Funeral Home. Reverend Johnny Stowe will officiate and burial will follow in the Memorial Garden of Prayer. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening. The family is at the home, 80 Snowy Drive

Born on April 23, 1941 in Anderson SC, he was the son of the late Arthur P. Dutton and Mary Smith Dutton. Mr. Dutton was retired from Springs Industries and a member of the Genostee ARP Church in Iva SC. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Wayne Dutton.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Haggard Dutton of the home; three sons, Robert Dutton of Iva, SC, Jimmy Dutton of Hartwell, and David Dutton of Royston; a daughter, Tracy Gibson of Royston; a step-son, Richard Taylor of Jefferson; two step-daughters, Tina Ivey and Christy Sanders both of Hartwell; a brother, J. C. Dutton of Hartwell; two sisters, Sue Pearson of Lavonia and Martha Sue Witsel of Royston; and fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
