Mrs. Annie Ruth Moon Vickery, 89 of 281Vickery St. Hartwell, died Tuesday, February 1 at her home.
Born on February 6, 1921 in Comer GA, she was the daughter of the late James Moon and Lilla Cape Moon. She was a retired seamstress for Bellcraft Mfg. Co., a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Vickery and his wife Judy of Hartwell and Jeff Vickery and his wife Brenda of Hartwell; one daughter, Judy Hughes of Hartwell, one brother, J.D. Moon of Hartwell, two sisters, Grace Baker of Hartwell, and Jean Blanton of Anderson. Seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Vickery was preceded in death by her husband, Clate Herndon Vickery; two sons Jimmy, and Johnny Vickery and two brothers W.C. Moon and Quinton Moon.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Black officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night. The family is at the home.
