Lois Brown

Mrs. Lois Martin Brown, age 82, of 151 Woodlake Landing, Hartwell, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in her home.

Born on August 20, 1927 in Anderson Co., SC, she was the daughter of the late Fred M. Martin and Ellen Herring Martin. She was retired from Gip’s Mfg. and was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bennie “Ben” W. Brown; and a brother, Fred Martin.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Dwain Brown of Hartwell; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Gene Berry of Lawrenceville; brother, Robert E. Martin of Powder Springs, GA; and a grandchild, Brad Myers.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 2pm from the Chapel of The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. Joe Black will officiate and burial will follow in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends from 1-2pm just prior to the service. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2973 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
