Mr. Richard F. Corn, age 65, of 955 St. John Church Road, Hartwell, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2009 in Hart County Hospital.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 3pm from the Mt. Olivet Church of God. Revs. J.B. Kitts and Randall Starrett will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state in the church at 2:30pm. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 7 – 9:00 p.m. The family is at the home of Dianne and Eddie Carroll, 3689 Anderson Hwy., Hartwell, GA.
Born September 18, 1943 in Franklin County, GA, he was the son of the late Fred Corn and Dallas Sue Floyd Corn. He was retired from Monroe and from Hart County Road Department. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Church of God. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Billy, Frank and Phil Corn; and a grandson, Michael Whitlock.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Goldsmith Corn of the home; son, Richard Fred Corn of Hartwell; daughters, Diane Carroll, Jo Rita Thompson and Mary Jane Rowland all of Hartwell; brother, Tommy “Tuck” Corn of Red Hill; sister, Barbara Haygood of Hartwell; twelve grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
