SPC Brad Seawright



SPC Brad Daniel Seawright, US Army, age 28, of 2590 Whippoorwill Trail, Hartwell, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2009 in Anderson County, South Carolina.

The funeral service will held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 11am from the Hartwell Chapel of The Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. R.C. Oglesby, Chaplin Thomas Paul Townsend and SSG Jeff Duncan will officiate and burial will be in the Iva City Cemetery, Iva SC with full military honors. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night. The family is at the home of Ronnie and Phyllis Seawright, 2818 Whippoorwill Trail, Hartwell.

Born on May 23, 1981 in Augusta GA, he was a son of Ronnie and Phyllis Wiles Seawright. Brad was a member of the US Army Reserves 289th Corps Support Det. He was employed by S & S Construction and was a member of the Good Hope Presbyterian Church of Iva. Mr. Seawright served two tours in Afghanistan, where he received a Purple Heart, the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and an Army Achievement Medal. SPC Seawright was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Waymon Wiles and paternal grandparents, Charles and Cleora Seawright.

Survivors include his wife, Beth Harris Seawright of Hartwell; two daughters, Rylie Elizabeth Seawright and Peyton Danielle Seawright both of the home; parents, Ronnie and Phyllis Wiles Seawright of Hartwell; two brothers, Ronnie Keith Seawright and Charles Bryan Seawright both of Hartwell; a sister, Dana Michelle Pastor of Anderson SC; and maternal grandmother, Bobbie Porter of Iva SC.
