Mabel West

Mrs. Lena Mabel Chafin West, 97, of Stoney Ridge Rd., died Friday, August 21, 2009, at Heritage Health Care of Wilkes.

Mrs. West was a native of Wilkes County, and was the daughter of the late George P. Chafin and Connie Mae Moss Chafin. She was retired from Royal Manufacturing Co., was a homemaker and a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church. She was the widow of Daniel Everette West, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Ann West Rogers and a son, Shelton Edward West.

Mrs. West is survived by sons and daughters in law, Marion and Joyce West and Bobby and Peggy West, both of Washington; daughters and son in law, Shirley W. Goldman, of Lincolnton, and Mary W. and Louie Gene Hubbard, of Washington. One sister, Blanche C. Sisson, of Washington: 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to the Phillips Mill Baptist Church

The graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at 3pm from the cemetery of Phillips Mill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday night in Hopkins Funeral Home.
