J.I. Seymour

Mr. J.I. Seymour, age 78 of 125 Bailey’s Garage Rd, Bowersville GA, died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at his son’s home.

Born September 24, 1930 in Elbert County, Ga., he was the son of the late Jesse Green Seymour and Louise Schlock Seymour. He was retired from Hartwell Mills/Springs Industries and a member of the Mount Olivet Baptist Church. Mr. Seymour was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.

Survivors: son, Michael “Mike” Seymour and his wife Cathy of Elberton, Ga., daughter, Connie Lynn Seymour of Hartwell, Ga., grandson reared in the home, Wes O’Tuel of Demorest, Ga., sister, Betty Winslett of Hartwell, Ga., special friend, Frieda Haynes of Elberton, Ga. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. Joe Black and Rev. Scott Mize will officiate. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday night. The family is at the home of his son, Mike and Kathy Seymour, 623 Jones St, Elberton GA.
