Henry Johnson, Jr.

Mr. Henry J. Johnson, Jr., age 90 of 1167 Old Andersonville Road, Hartwell, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2009 in St. Mary’s Hospice House, Athens.

The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 3pm from the chapel of The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Dr. R. Allen Stewart will officiate and Mr. Johnson's body was cremated. The family is at the home of Carol & Bruce Boorn, 1167 Old Andersonville Road, Hartwell and wil receive friends from 2-3 just prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to:

Born October 12, 1918 in Lakeland, GA, he was the son of the late Henry J. Johnson, Sr. and Ethel Gary Johnson. He was a retired Policeman from the City of Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Johnson was a member of F.O.P. in Jacksonville, FL and a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran and served in the Pacific Theater. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlotte Isabel White Johnson; sister, Louise Gray and a grandchild, Timothy Boorn.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Carlene Johnson of Snellville; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Bruce Boorn of Hartwell; sister, Ola Mae Douglas of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Lori Reinhart, Ashley Johnson, and Scott Johnson; three great grandchildren, Devon Reinhardt, Haley Reinhardt and Chase Reinhardt.
