Douglas Crawford

Mr. Douglas S. Crawford, age 88 of 12 Cobb Village Drive, Apt. 47D, Royston, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2009 in Hart County Hospital.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 2pm from the Chapel of The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Revs. Hulon Bryant and Andy Huff will officiate and burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell where the family will receive friends fro 12-2 Friday just prior to the service. The family is at the home in Royston. Born March 24, 1921 in Clifton, NJ, he was the son of the late George Crawford and Sophie Leimbach Crawford. He was retired from Picatinny Arsonal as a Program Analyst. Mr. Crawford was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Royston and American Legion Post #109. He was also a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran and served in the Pacific Theater. He is preceded in death by his Parents and a Daughter, Virginia Ann “Ginger” Levin.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Carlile Crawford of Royston, GA; son, Gordon R. Crawford of Morristown, NJ; son-in-law, Scott Levin of Chicago, IL; three grandsons, Cory Levin, Carl Levin and Christopher Levin; and two great grandchildren.
