Frank E. Alexander

Mr. Frank E. Alexander, 84, of 188 Early Drive, Hartwell, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Hart County Hospital.

Born on September 7, 1926 in Elberton, GA, he was the son of the late Henry F. “Doe” Alexander and Grace Holmes Alexander. He was a former employee at Newton Mills and retired from Hanesworth Mill in Anderson, SC where he worked as a mechanic. He was also a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and a US Army WWII veteran.

He is survived by two sons: James Alexander and his wife, Phyllis of Clarkesville, and Wayne Alexander and his wife, Jan, of Elberton; one brother: Wilton Alexander of Hartwell; three sisters: Kate Pless of Elberton, Willene White of Hartwell, Alma Jo Carruth of Hartwell; three grandchildren April Cowart, Amy Seymour, and Jeremy Tony Beatenbo; and four great grandchildren also survive. Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margie Cleveland Alexander; one son: Roger Alexander; and three brothers: George Alexander, Horace Alexander, and Raymond Alexander.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Stowe and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night. The family is at their respective homes.
