Eunice Byrum Welborn

Mrs. Eunice Byrum Welborn, 97, of Hartwell, died Tuesday, March 15 at Hartwell Health Care Center.

Born on October 9, 1913 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Ann Baldwin Byrum. She was a retired parts inspector for Monroe Auto Equipment Company, one of the oldest members of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Forever Young Sunday School Class and the Forever Young Senior Group.

She is survived by a daughter, Joy W. Stratton of Elberton; three sons, James Welborn, Don Welborn and Tony Welborn all of Hartwell; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Welborn was preceded in death by her husband, Sloan P. Welborn; two daughters, Louise W. Roe and Ann B. Welborn; a son, Robert P. Welborn; three sisters, Drucilla B. Carson, Ina B. Jordan and Lois B. Addison; four brothers, Johnny Byrum, Robert Byrum, Sherman and Clyde Byrum and a great-granddaughter, Anastasia Oliver.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Black and Layman Wade Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night. The family is at the home of Tony and Susan Welborn, 164 Azalea Dr, Hartwell. Flowers optional, memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2973 Mt.
