Hazel Coile Sanders

Mrs. Hazel Coile Sanders, 81, of 141 Gloria Dr. Hartwell, died Thursday, February 18, at her home.

Born on April 6, 1929 in Danielsville GA, she was the daughter of the late Enoch Pope and Katie McKinney Coile. She was a retired houseparent for the State of Georgia, Department of Mental Health. She was a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church, former choir member and Sunday School Teacher.

She is survived by a son, Wesley B. Sanders of Kent WA; a daughter, Judy Lawrence and her husband Larry of Hartwell; three sisters, Betty Collins of Augusta GA, Reba Hudgens of Hartwell and Mary Ray of Greenville SC; a grandson, Adam Sanders; two step-grandchildren, Travis Lawrence and Sharon Peace; two step-great-grandchildren; a step-great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survives. Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett B. Sanders; a daughter, Melissa Renee Sanders; two brothers, Claude and Harold Coile and three sisters, Mabelle House, Delree Barton and Jessie Lee Floyd.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Mike Fugate and Rev. Frank Sailors officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday night. The family is at the home of Judy & Larry Lawrence, 309 Crumps Rd, Hartwell.
