Mr. William R. “Bill” Haley, age 70, of 1303 Royston Highway, Hartwell, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 in the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
The funeral service will be on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 4pm from the Chapel of The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. Dan Bailey will officiate and burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2-4 Sunday Afternoon. Born in Hart County on February 22, 1939, he was the son of the late William H. Haley and Kathleen Mauldin Haley Brewer. He retired from Monsanto Chemical Company as a Nylon Production Technician. Mr. Haley was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, Royston and a US Air Force veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Anna McElrath Haley
Survivors include a step-son, Greg Bolt of Columbia, SC; step-daughter, Sandra Reynolds of Greenwood SC; two brothers, Fred “Freddie” Haley of Greenville SC and Randy Haley of Hartwell; and a sister, Sandra K. Kerr of St. Augustine, FL.
