Mrs. Cornelia Cromer Goldsmith, age 64, of 1970 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009 in Athens Regional Medical Center.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 3pm from the Hartwell Chapel of The Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Black and Dr. Steve Williams will officiate and burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Church of God Cemetery with Rev. Terry Meeks officiating. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 6-8pm. The family is at the home of Mark and Teresa Haygood, 284 Fred King Road, Hartwell.
Born on July 27, 1945 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Keifer Cromer and Iber Lois Phillips Cromer. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Baron L. Goldsmith; son, William Mark Goldsmith; brothers, Cecil, Jack, Gene, and Kenneth Cromer; and a sister, Mary Smith.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa G. and Mark Haygood of Hartwell; brother, James Cromer of Hartwell; sisters, Bonnie Partain of McDonough, Janie Anderson of Royston, Sarah Willis of Gainesville, Martha Askworth of Hartwell, Becky Thomas of Hartwell, and Glenda Parham of Bowman; and four grandchildren, Will Goldsmith, Caroline Haygood, Suzanne Haygood and Zachary Haygood.
