Mr. H. Gary Fortson, age 54, of Dewy Rose, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009 following an extended illness.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at 2pm from the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Purvis will officiate and burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8pm in the funeral home.
Mr. Fortson is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Annie Laura Fortson; and father-in-law, J.W. Davis.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Patricia Fortson; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Buddy Stephens; grandchildren, Tyler and Heather Stephens; sisters, Connie Carter, Lisa Chandler, Elaine Short and Lynn Herman; brothers, Ronnie and Alex Fortson; mother-in-law, Patsy Davis; and brother-in-law, Wayne Davis. A special niece and a number of friends also survive.
