Jonathon Coggin


Jonathon Coggin was born on January 17, 1996. He passed away on Tuesday May 5, 2009 in Egleston Childrens Hospital as a result of injuries he received in an automobile accident. He was 13.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2pm from the Bethany Baptist Church. Reverends Jerry Durham and Anthony Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body is in The Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6-9 Friday night, May 8, 2009. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 Saturday afternoon. The family is at the home of Bobby and Pam Fleming, 999 Bert Moorhead Road, Canon.

Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to Jonathon Coggin Memorial Scolarship Fund, 999 Bert Moorhead Rd, Canon Ga.

A resident of 1026 Tom Rice Road, Canon, Jonathon was the son of Tim Coggin and Tammy Blackwell LeCroy and stepson of Danny A. LeCroy. He was born on January 17, 1996 in Athens, GA. Jonathon was a 7th grade student at Hart County Middle School; member of the 2008-2009 HCMS Football Team; The Outdoor Club member; Honor Student; member of FCA; and played the trumpet in band during his 6th grade year.

Survivors include his parents and stepfather, Tim Coggin and Tammy B. and Danny A. LeCroy; brother, Christopher Coggin; sisters, Krista LeCroy and Katie Coggin, all of Hartwell; paternal grandparents, C.O. "Bucky" and Kathleene "Kitty" Coggin, both of Hartwell; maternal grandmother, Linda Blackwell Collins of Hiwassee; special aunts and uncles, Bobby and Pam Fleming and Sue and Terry Cole. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, J.C. Blackwell.
