Mrs. Sara Fortson Guest, age 83 of Elberton, died January 14, 2009. Mrs. Guest was born in Elbert County to the late Jefferson Hood Fortson and Minnie Lou Maxwell Fortson. She was raised in Elberton 1st United Methodist Church and was an active member of the choir. She was also a member of the local chapter of The Red Hats Society and she received a 10,000-hour service pen as a volunteer at Elbert Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17 at 3:00 PM in Elberton 1st United Methodist Church. Rev. Wallace Wheelis and Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon 2-3 PM at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Elberton 1st UMC.
