Milton Edwin Rampey

Milton Edwin Rampey, age 75, of 1440 Washington Highway, Elberton, Ga., passed away on March 30, 2011 at Athens Regional Medical Center with family at his side. He was born October 4, 1935, in Elberton, Ga., the son of the late Claude Milton “Pete” Rampey and Geneva Ethlyn Maxwell Rampey.

Mr. Rampey was a member of the Elberton First United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a friend to all. He was an avid gardener and was well known for his abundance of tomatoes and blueberries. He was a true sports fan, loving his Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs. His one true love was music, but his greatest joy was his family.

Mr. Rampey is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Ann Eaves Rampey; children: Danny (Denise) Rampey of Winder, Ga., Ann (Tim) Saxon of Oconee Co., Ga., David (Sherri) Rampey of Elberton, Ga.; grandchildren: Andrew Norris Edwin (Lindsey) Rampey of Winder, Ga., Rachel Anne Rampey of Winder, Ga., Kathryn Jewel Saxon of Oconee Co., Ga., Franklin Chase Rampey and Hilary Eav Rampey of Elberton, Ga.; great-grandchild, Braelyn Rampey of Winder, Ga.; brother, Nolan Rampey of Winder, Ga., as well as several other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Elberton First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Hicks Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m.

Flowers are graciously appreciated or memorials may be made to the Elberton First United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Organ Fund, Elberton, Ga.
