R. Dick Heimerich

Mr. Richard P. “Dick” Heimerich, age 79, of 1388 Old Beacon Light Road, Hartwell, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2009 in St. Mary’s Hospice, Athens.

Born on February 21, 1930 in Manhattan, New York, he was the late Oskar Heimerich and Theodora May Heimerich. He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant, serving 21 years in the U S Air Force. Dick was also retired from Fulton County Government in 1990 as a Data Systems Manager. Mr. Heimerich was a former member of the Hart Co. Golden K and the Kelley Stompers of the Kelley Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a Mason, member of the American Legion Post 109, Hartwell Golf Club and the Hartwell First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret “Ann” Lovell Heimerich of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Rick Heimerich of Duluth and Chuck and Melinda Heimerich of Dacula; a daughter, Donna Heimerich of Acworth; a sister, Kathy Mangan and her husband Bob of Hartwell; and a granddaughter, Mollie Heimerich also survives.

A memorial service will be Sunday, November 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. R. Allen Stewart officiating. Full military honors will follow the memorial service. The family is at the home and will receive friends after the memorial service Sunday at their home.
